Softball Recap: North Fort Myers Takes Down Gaither in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, North Fort Myers rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Gaither Cowboys.

Kaliyah Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Mia Lane was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrie Florenzano, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Fort Myers pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Gaither, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Coming up, North Fort Myers will face off against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaither does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
