Basketball Recap: Hubbard Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Hubbard challenged Rosebud-Lott on Tuesday. The Jaguars were dealt a 70-25 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. The Jaguars lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-36 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Hubbard lost, don't look at Gage Serna. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points.

Hubbard's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Rosebud-Lott, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hubbard will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Italy at 8:15 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Rosebud-Lott will take on Rogers in a holiday battle at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
