Basketball Recap: Ellsworth Takes a Loss

Ellsworth played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 53-28 to the Hoisington Cardinals. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Hoisington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhen Galla out in front who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Galla has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Martin, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

Ellsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hoisington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Ellsworth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-34 loss against Victoria on the 25th. As for Hoisington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-42 win against Pratt on the 25th.
