Football Recap: Salmon Comes Up Short on the Road Against Priest River + How To Watch

Salmon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Priest River Spartans 76-0 on Saturday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Priest River was led to victory by Lucas Mathews and Layton Goins. Mathews threw for 294 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, while Goins gained 142 total yards and four touchdowns. What's more, Mathews racked up 149.7 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Salmon will square off against St. Maries at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Priest River, they will host Bonners Ferry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
