Basketball Recap: San Simon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Patagonia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Simon). They really took it to the Patagonia Lobos for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 victory. That's two games straight that the Longhorns have won by exactly 28 points.

San Simon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyzon Corrales led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten steals. Corrales is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryleigh Sloan, who posted ten points along with seven steals and six assists.

San Simon was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for San Simon and bumps their season record up to 9-11. As for Patagonia, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

San Simon will challenge Hayden at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. San Simon is facing Hayden at the right time seeing as Hayden is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Patagonia, they will take on Superior at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
