Baseball Game Preview: Ypsilanti Grizzlies vs. Tecumseh Indians

For the second straight game, Ypsilanti will face off against Tecumseh. The Grizzlies will welcome the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Ypsilanti has struggled recently with 13 losses in a row, while Tecumseh will arrive with five straight victories.

Ypsilanti fell victim to Tecumseh and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 15-0.

For Tecumseh's part, Palmer Ziemer made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Ziemer a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rocco Williams was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Austin Kane, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Tecumseh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Tecumseh pushed their record up to 11-8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ypsilanti, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
