Basketball Game Preview: Hutto Hippos vs. Round Rock Dragons

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Hutto turned things around against Round Rock Westwood on Friday. They managed a 44-38 victory over the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Round Rock came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Mustangs are ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Round Rock's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Hutto, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
