Baseball Recap: Scio Takes a Loss

Scio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-3 to the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-4 last Monday.

Scio saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Sundin, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That hit marked the first that Sundin got this season.

Scio's record is now 0-7. As for Blanchet Catholic, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scio will venture away from home to take on Santiam Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blanchet Catholic, they will head out to face off against Dayton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
