Recap: Oceanside Mariners vs. Medomak Valley Panthers
The Oceanside Mariners put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They secured a 36-30 W over Medomak Valley. This was payback for Oceanside, who suffered a 35-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Cohen Galley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 199 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 103 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. Galley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Aiden Sergent was another key contributor, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Oceanside's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Belfast and 1-7 Brewer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.4% over those games). As for Medomak Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.
Oceanside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Medomak Valley is also done with their season.
