Softball Recap: Fowler Redcats vs. Minarets Mustangs
Fowler had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Minarets Mustangs with a sharp 28-1 victory. Considering the Redcats have won four matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Izzy Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. Back at the plate, Alexis Alvarado was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
