Baseball Recap: Genesee Comes Up Short

Genesee had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 4-6-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Clearwater Valley Rams, falling 13-3. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Noah Bollman made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Banks, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Clearwater Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Clearwater Valley's side, Harvey Wellard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Clearwater Valley is undefeated when Wellard allows one or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Wellard was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Barak Meyer and Kale Walle did most of the damage at the plate: Meyer went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Walle got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Walle has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tovin Lundgren, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clearwater Valley beat Genesee by a score of 23-5 later that day.
