Basketball Recap: Point Arena Beats Round Valley for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Point Arena extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Fernando Lopez. The Point Arena Pirates breezed by the Round Valley Mustangs to the tune of 93-59 on Saturday thanks in part to Lopez, who shot 7-for-12 from long range and dropped a double-double on 44 points and 15 boards. His evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Another player making a difference was Tosh Mouton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 12 times he's played.

Point Arena pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.7 points. As for Round Valley, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Looking ahead, Point Arena will be playing in front of their home fans against Potter Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Round Valley, they will head out to face off against Mendocino at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
