Basketball Game Preview: Westside Wolverines vs. Ridgeview Panthers

Westside is 1-9 against Ridgeview since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Westside Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Ridgeview Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Westside is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They fell 34-22 to KIPP Bold City.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Ridgeview against Trinity Christian Academy on Thursday as the team secured a 58-22 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Conquerors are ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ridgeview is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

Westside took a serious blow against Ridgeview in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 50-17. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Westside was down 34-11.
