Football Preview: Mt. Enterprise Wildcats vs. Lovelady Lions
A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats dukes it out withthe Lovelady Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mt. Enterprise will bounce into Friday's match after beating Tenaha, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Mt. Enterprise breezed by Tenaha at home to the tune of 48-7 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Tracey Thompson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 187 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aadin Alsup, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Lovelady waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Yellowjackets 42-21.
Mt. Enterprise pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lovelady, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Mt. Enterprise might still be hurting after the 24-0 loss they got from Lovelady when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Can Mt. Enterprise avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
