Softball Recap: St. Mary Catholic Takes a Loss

While it was St. Mary Catholic who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Xavier who put up more. The Zephyrs fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 9-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Zephyrs of the 11-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Emily Weiss and Emily Vogel did some serious damage despite the final result: Weiss went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Vogel went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sammi Weis, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

St. Mary Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

St. Mary Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against Peshtigo on the 4th. As for Xavier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Little Chute on the 4th.
