Football Game Preview: Jackson County Generals vs. Pineville Mountain Lions

Jackson County hasn't had much luck against Pineville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Generals are taking a road trip to face off against the Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m. Jackson County has given up an average of 35.7 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jackson County's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Breathitt County on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bobcats and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Bobcats are ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, Pineville was able to grind out a solid victory over Lynn Camp on Friday, taking the game 16-8. The Mountain Lions haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Pineville picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Jackson County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Jackson County was dealt a bruising 51-0 defeat at the hands of Pineville when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
