Recap: John Jay Patriots vs. Arlington Admirals
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The John Jay Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 42-21 loss at the hands of Arlington on Friday. While losing is never fun, John Jay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Arlington is ranked 22nd).
When it comes to explaining why John Jay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Feliciotto. Despite the final result, he rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 219 yards and a touchdown. Feliciotto has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Michael Rescigno was his usual excellent self, rushing for 216 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 177 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. Rescigno really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
John Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Arlington, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-0.
John Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Arlington has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on November 11th. Carmel is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
