Softball Game Preview: Concord Bears vs. Novato Hornets

The Concord Bears will square off against the Novato Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Concord has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 27.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Concord's offense. They came up short against Pinole Valley on Tuesday, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Novato also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 10-0 to San Rafael on Wednesday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Novato saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Hannan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Novato, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Concord couldn't quite get it done against Novato in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 9-5. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
