Soccer Game Preview: River Valley vs. Placer

The River Valley Falcons will head out to challenge the Placer Hillmen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Placer will be coming in after a loss.

Placer will be up against a hot River Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. River Valley came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Del Campo. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one goal.

Alex Navarette and Cristian Ayala scored both of River Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Placer didn't have quite enough to beat Yuba City on Friday and fell 3-2.

River Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five matchups. As for Placer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-2.

River Valley skirted past Placer 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for River Valley since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
