Baseball Recap: Barnwell's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Barnwell has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.11 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Saluda Tigers, falling 11-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Warhorses were not able to get on the board.

Barnwell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Austin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double.

Barnwell's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Saluda, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Barnwell will take on Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saluda, they will challenge Batesburg-Leesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.4, the Panthers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
