Fowler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over Swink. Fowler pushed the score to 55-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
Fowler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gage Gottbehuet, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Bates, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, even though La Veta scored an imposing 63 points on Thursday, Hoehne still came out on top. Hoehne took their matchup against the Redhawks 70-63. The victory was nothing new for Hoehne as they're now sitting on three straight.
Levon Bachicha was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Nathan Zamora, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Fowler and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Hoehne, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Fowler was able to grind out a solid victory over the Farmers when the teams last played back in January, winning 42-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fowler since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
