Goodpasture Christian and Friendship Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Cougars will challenge the Commanders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Goodpasture Christian will be strutting in after a win while Friendship Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Goodpasture Christian was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Nashville Christian 6-5. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Serenity Harrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Laura Beth Blessing and Brooklyn Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Blessing went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Jones got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Faith Ivy also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Goodpasture Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nashville Christian only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, Friendship Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 4-0 to Donelson Christian Academy.

Friendship Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Goodpasture Christian, their record is now 7-10.

Goodpasture Christian couldn't quite finish off Friendship Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
