Baseball Recap: Sweet Home's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hidden Valley, Sweet Home was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the North Salem Vikings with a sharp 17-7 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Huskies' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Kyle Zajic made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off only two hits. Zajic was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Rosa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tregon Francis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Sweet Home always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sweet Home's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for North Salem, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Sweet Home will take on Molalla at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. North Salem has already played their next matchup (against Woodburn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
