Preview: Cassville vs. Clinton
Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Clinton should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They and Cassville go head to head at 7:00 PM in their first playoff matchup of the year. Clinton are limping into the matchup on a nine-game losing streak.
Clinton were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their match against St. Michael the Archangel last Friday. Clinton suffered a grim 13-35 defeat to St. Michael the Archangel. This match was a close 13-14 at the break, but unfortunately for Clinton it sure didn't stay that way.
Meanwhile, Cassville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lamar 24-21. Cassville are sitting pretty right now with nine consecutive wins.
Cassville's victory lifted them to 9-0 while Clinton's loss dropped them down to 0-9. We'll find out if Cassville can add another positive mark to their record or if Clinton can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Cassville's step.
