Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission North Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Topeka Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Shawnee Mission North sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-20.

Shawnee Mission North's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Topeka, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Coincidentally, Shawnee Mission North and Topeka will both be playing Leavenworth the next time they take the court. The Trojans will head out to face the PIONEERS at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bison will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
