Baseball Game Preview: North Central Knights vs. Andrew Jackson Volunteers

North Central hasn't had much luck against Andrew Jackson recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will welcome the Volunteers at 6:30 p.m. Andrew Jackson took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Central, who comes in off a win.

North Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand McBee an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Knights not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024 (when they won 15-2).

Cassidy Horton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Patton Hood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

North Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson fell victim to Weddington and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Volunteers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Andrew Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for North Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-18.

North Central came up short against Andrew Jackson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
