Basketball Game Preview: Concord Christian Lions vs. Cross Stingrays

The Concord Christian Lions will take on the Cross Stingrays in a tournament on Friday. Concord Christian will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Two weeks ago, Concord Christian came up short against Providence Academy and fell 66-56. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Providence Academy are ranked 193rd).

Meanwhile, Cross also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Charleston Collegiate by a score of 66-59. The Stingrays haven't had much luck with the Sundevils recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Concord Christian will need focus on slowing down Luke Fulda, one of several Cross players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Fulda continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Zach Nicastro was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points.

Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Concord Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
