The Bennett Tigers will head out to face off against the Limon Badgers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bennett is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Bennett didn't have quite enough to beat Arrupe Jesuit and fell 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Generals 25-21 in the first set.
Bennett wouldn't go down easily and took Arrupe Jesuit into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-11, 16-25, 15-11.
Meanwhile, Limon lost 3-0 to Flagler on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Badgers have suffered against the Panthers since September 15, 2016.
Limon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.
Bennett will have to contain Chloe Stone as she made an impact in Limon's last game. She had 13 digs and three aces. Stone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Limon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bennett, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Bennett was able to grind out a solid win over Limon in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Badgers' Samara Humphrey, who had 21 digs. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for the Tigers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
