Volleyball Recap: South Gwinnett's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

South Gwinnett can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against the McDonough Warhawks by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on August 5th.

South Gwinnett not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept McDonough between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17.

Journi Harden paced South Gwinnett's offense, picking up six kills. Harden got some help from Blessing Onyeanula and her ten assists. Onyeanula was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

South Gwinnett's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for McDonough, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Coming up, South Gwinnett will take on Meadowcreek at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McDonough, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Woodland on the 26th.
