Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Starts Season with Victory Against Freedom + How To Watch

Wiregrass Ranch gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 78-62 win over the Freedom Patriots. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ajayden Jenkins had an outrageously good game as he shot 52% from the field en route to 32 points and six steals. Those 32 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Simmons, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points.

Wiregrass Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freedom only posted five.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Harrigan, who posted eight points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Serigme Thiam, who earned 16 points.

Wiregrass Ranch has already played their next contest, a 72-68 victory against Bell Creek Academy on the 19th. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-44 loss against Tampa Bay Tech on the 18th.
