Football Recap: Eastern Wayne Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Eastern Wayne dropped to 6-3 on Friday, ending the team's ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 47-24 to the West Craven Eagles. Despite 94 more yards than the Eagles, the Warriors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Eastern Wayne still got an impressive performance from Izeiah Oates, who threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 147 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

As for West Craven, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.4 points over those games.

It was another big night for DJ Davis, who threw for 248 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Jeremiah Leigh was Davis' top target, picking up 85 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
