Soccer Game Preview: Timberland vs. Academic Magnet

Timberland is 0-4 against Academic Magnet since March of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Timberland Wolves will host the Academic Magnet Raptors at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Timberland sitting on four straight victories and Academic Magnet on six.

While Timberland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Calhoun County on Friday. Wolves better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Robby Ireland, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Meanwhile, Academic Magnet won against Summerville on Friday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Tuesday. Academic Magnet sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Lucy Beckham.

Academic Magnet's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Timberland, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Timberland suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Academic Magnet in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Timberland was down 7-1.
