Baseball Game Preview: Morgan Huskies vs. East Hampton Bellringers

The Morgan Huskies will face off against the East Hampton Bellringers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morgan has three straight wins, East Hampton has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Morgan beats East Hampton with six runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Huskies skirted past North Branford 6-4.

Benji Brown was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Zach Viens, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, East Hampton didn't have quite enough to beat Cromwell on Wednesday and fell 4-2.

East Hampton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Kapenaros, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

East Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Morgan came up short against East Hampton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
