Softball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

Northwestern dropped their record down to 14-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 17-0 to the Manchester Panthers. The Huskies were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Panthers' pitcher proved too tough.

As for Manchester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Considering they have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Manchester's part, they got a massive performance out of Alli Hodgkinson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Saige Rankin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As of now, neither Northwestern nor Manchester have any future games scheduled.
