Softball Recap: Hackett Has No Trouble Against Paris

Hackett won the last time they faced Paris and things went their way on Monday too. The Hornets blew past the Eagles 13-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Michaelyn Freeman and Kali Reather did most of the damage at the plate: Freeman went 3-for-4 with five runs, three doubles, and two RBI, while Reather went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Reather a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kassitey Hill, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hackett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hackett's record now sits at 4-7. As for Paris, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Hackett will challenge Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paris, they will take on Cedarville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
