Basketball Game Preview: Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes vs. Southeastern Christian Academy Warriors

The Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes are taking a road trip to take on the Southeastern Christian Academy Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cape Fear Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Cape Fear Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 17th on Monday. They came up short against Pine Lake Prep, falling 73-52. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Pride are ranked 58th).

Meanwhile, Southeastern Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 54-36 to North Myrtle Beach. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cape Fear Academy will have to keep a close watch on Uzziah Marlowe and James Hobbs, a pair of players who had a big impact on Southeastern Christian Academy's prior game. Marlowe posted 16 points, while Hobbs put up 11 points. Hobbs continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Southeastern Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cape Fear Academy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
