Basketball Recap: Marionville Comes Up Short

Marionville was the 52-50 winner over Blue Eye when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Marionville Comets were outmatched by the Blue Eye Bulldogs and fell 57-30.

Despite the loss, Marionville had strong showings from Rylie Fletcher, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds, and Dally Pomeroy, who posted three points along with eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals.

Marionville's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1. As for Blue Eye, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Marionville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-45 win against Sparta on the 6th. Blue Eye has also already played their next game, a 57-26 victory against New Covenant Academy on the 10th.
