Basketball Recap: Baltic Takes a Loss

Baltic entered their match against West Central on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Baltic Bulldogs took a blow against the West Central Trojans, falling 65-38. The Bulldogs lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 54-49 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Baltic lost, don't look at Kellen Artz. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Artz has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Trevor Cuperus was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Baltic's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for West Central, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baltic will venture away from home to square off against Viborg/Hurley at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Central, they will head out to challenge Lennox at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
