Softball Recap: Vicksburg Gators vs. Grenada Chargers
Vicksburg and Grenada squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Vicksburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-3 loss on Friday.
Vicksburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zion Harvey, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Harvey has hit this season. Another was Madisyn Kimble, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Vicksburg and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Grenada, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
Vicksburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grenada, they will challenge Neshoba Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
