Avon Lake fell victim to Hudson and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Explorers by a score of 1-0. The Shoremen's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Camden Reutter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Avon Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Cartwright, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Cartwright hit this season.

Avon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hudson, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon Lake will face off against Elyria Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hudson, they will take on Nordonia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
