Volleyball Recap: Amherst Broncos vs. Pleasanton Bulldogs
Amherst posted their biggest win since October 1st on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Pleasanton Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played last Thursday.
Amherst never let Pleasanton on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amherst to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breckyn Layne Veskerna, who had 26 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Layne Veskerna has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Hagan, who had 12 digs and 30 assists.
Amherst's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Pleasanton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-9.
Amherst will challenge Gothenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amherst will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Pleasanton, they are on the road again on Monday to play Wilcox-Hildreth at 6:00 p.m.
