Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Mustangs vs. Kimball Knights

The Roosevelt Mustangs will take on the Kimball Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Roosevelt is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Carter on Tuesday. They lost 18-2 to the Cowboys. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

J Roberson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. T Swindle was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Kimball didn't have quite enough to beat Wilmer-Hutchins on Tuesday and fell 12-10. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid win over Kimball in their previous matchup back in February, winning 27-23. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
