Football Game Preview: King Mustangs vs. Carroll Tigers

King is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to square off against the Carroll Tigers at 7:00 p.m. King is looking for their season's first win.

On Friday, King came up short against Robstown and fell 20-7.

Despite the loss, King got top-tier performance from Jordan Davis, who rushed for 127 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Davis' longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Meanwhile, Carroll didn't have too much trouble with Tuloso-Midway on Friday as they won 28-14. The Tigers pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors & Cherokees cut but never quite recovered from.

Carroll now has a winning record of 3-2. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

King was taken down by Carroll 51-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Robert Muhammad (who rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
