Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Walnut Hills couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Princeton Vikings on Sunday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Princeton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mari Gerton led the charge by shooting 50% from the field on her way to 19 points. The match was Gerton's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Lowe, who posted seven points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Walnut Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Princeton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Walnut Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Princeton, they are taking a road trip to face off against Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on March 9th. Springboro is on a six-game streak of home wins, Princeton a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
