Volleyball Recap: Caylee Collins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Refugio over Skidmore-Tynan

After flying high against Woodsboro last Tuesday, Refugio came back down to earth. Refugio lost 3-0 to Skidmore-Tynan on Tuesday. Refugio hasn't had much luck with Skidmore-Tynan recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caylee Collins, who had 19 digs, six kills, three aces, and one block. Collins has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aiyanna Brown, who had 22 digs and four aces.

Refugio's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Skidmore-Tynan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Refugio will face off against rival Agua Dulce at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Skidmore-Tynan is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodsboro at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
