Basketball Recap: Gar-Field Comes Up Short

Gar-Field was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Freedom Eagles and fell 49-4. The Red Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-2.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Jocelyn Blanco and Rachael Grant, who each put up two points.

Freedom's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keilana Johnson, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Price, who posted 13 points and six steals.

Gar-Field's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Freedom, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Gar-Field wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-27 defeat against Osbourn on the 5th. Freedom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
