Soccer Game Preview: Old Forge vs. Holy Cross

The Old Forge Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Holy Cross Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Old Forge's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Old Forge didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain View and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Elk Lake 2-1. Liam Sullivan had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Holy Cross got from the refs.

Jamie Prislupski was the driving force of Holy Cross' attack as he scored both of Holy Cross' goals, bringing his season total up to 13 goals.

Old Forge's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Holy Cross, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Old Forge skirted past Holy Cross 2-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
