 The South Allegheny Gladiators will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against the McGuffey Highlanders at 4:15  p.m. McGuffey took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on South Allegheny, who comes in off a win.
 Last Tuesday, South Allegheny got the win against East Allegheny  by a conclusive  15-2.
  Carrera Conley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits (and not a single walk). Conley was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news, South Allegheny got a  massive  performance out of  Morgan Mosqueda, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  doubles.  Lily Dranko was another key contributor,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile,  McGuffey unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Carmichaels by a score of  4-2. Having soared to a lofty 12  runs in the game before, McGuffey couldn't push the score so high this time.
 McGuffey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Julia Barr, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  Katie Grimm, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 South Allegheny now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for McGuffey, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 3-1.
 Thursday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Allegheny has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .481. However, it's not like McGuffey struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .537. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 South Allegheny might still be hurting after the  11-1 loss they got from McGuffey  when the teams last played  back in March of 2023. Can South Allegheny avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
