Football Recap: Casey-Westfield Extends Winning Streak to Six

Casey-Westfield put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 win over the Marshall Lions. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Lions are ranked 229th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marshall lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaiden Sanders, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Lucca Giannavola, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

Casey-Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Marshall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Casey-Westfield is set to take on their familiar foe Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marshall will face off against rival Lawrenceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
