Softball Recap: Hawthorne Gets the Win

Hawthorne got themselves on the board against Butler on Wednesday, but Butler never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

The victory got Hawthorne back to even at 2-2. As for Butler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawthorne will take on Manchester Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Butler, they will venture away from home to face off against Pompton Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
